NSYNC are back with their first song in two decades
|After reuniting at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Tuesday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Joey Fatone have released a new song called "Better Place." The song is their first new single in 20 years and is featured in a trailer for the upcoming DreamWorks Animation film "Trolls Band Together." It comes after the band performed at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The video clip features an excerpt from the song, which will be made available to the public on September 29, as well as NSYNC's track "I Want You Back," which was released in 1997.
Poppy, played by Anna Kendrick, and Branch, played by Timberlake, are the protagonists of the third and final installment of the 'Trolls' film series, which will be released in theaters on November 17th.
Poppy finds out that Branch, along with his other four brothers, was a previous member of the boyband BroZone.
This comes on the heels of NSYNC's performance at the Video Music Awards on Tuesday, which marked the group's first public performance at the awards show in ten years.
They walked out onto the platform to hand Taylor Swift one of the nine awards and accolades she collected that evening, including the award for Best Pop.
"Over 20 years ago, we were here when we won Best Pop Video for 'Bye Bye Bye,'" Chasez reminded the audience. "Bye Bye Bye" was the group's most successful music video. "It was our first time performing at the VMA, and it meant the world to us."
The rest of what Kirkpatrick had to say was as follows: "That award validated our hard work."
Swift, who said that she had toy figures of the group when she was little, questioned the 'Tearin' Up My Heart' hitmakers regarding their plans for the foreseeable future.
She enquired of him, "Are you doing anything?" What are the next steps going to be? They are about to do something, and it is imperative that I find out what it is.
The group of four, however, did not reveal any information.
"You guys are pop personified, so to receive this from your golden pop hands is really, it's too much," she said further. "It's really, it's too much."
It comes after Chasez, Bass, Fatone, and Kirkpatrick briefly played alongside Timberlake during a medley at the 2013 Video Music Awards as part of the singer's acceptance of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Kirkpatrick was also a member of the group at the time.
